Workshops/Trainings

This popular format allows attendees to learn techniques to help stabilize a person experiencing an acute psychotic episode.

Attendees analyze photos and a video of me in acute psychosis to see first hand the symptoms of an individual experiencing psychotic features.

In addition to the presentation, workshop participants can take part in group activities and role plays.

I am available to present my CIT International award-winning program at conferences and large venues around the country, where I share my personal journey and the life-changing impact of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training. Through this powerful story, audiences gain insight into how compassionate, informed response can transform outcomes for individuals in crisis.

Virtual trainings work very well if distance is a consideration. Using the platform of your choice, I conduct training activities, including live interactive components that feature photos and video of me experiencing acute psychosis.

Plenty of time is set aside for and questions and discussion among participants.

Virtual Presentations/Training

I serve on the Maryland Statewide Steering Committee on Behavioral Health and the Justice System, where I collaborate with leaders across disciplines to help shape policies at the intersection of mental health and public safety. In this role, I bring both professional insight and lived experience to support more effective, humane responses to individuals in crisis.

In addition, I serve on the Board of Directors for my local NAMI chapter, contributing to community-based advocacy, education, and support initiatives. I am also a trainer for the Maryland Judiciary College, where I educate judges and court professionals on recognizing mental health conditions and responding with informed, compassionate approaches that improve outcomes and reduce unnecessary involvement in the justice system.
